The turned and blocked balustrade design first appeared in the late 18th Century and gained popularity with many variations during the 19th Century. The balustrade mirror was used with both Federal and Empire furnishings. Ours is a most handsome example, deep and robust with well defined ornamentation. The finish is antique gold leaf. Two beveled mirrors add sparkle.
